Asu began his career as a climber living in a nomadic life exploring mountain ranges around China after university. He was always passionate in searching the unclimbed peaks to make his own way up to the summit. During the time in the mountains, he found what touched him the most are the stories behind the nature, culture and humans. Since then expeditions are no longer filled with big egos of first ascent records, it starts to attract him to document the stories through film making.
Asu worked as a nomad mountain guide to support his own film production earlier on. Then his work started to get recognized by the TV channels such as The Travel Channel and CCTV. In 2016, Asu and his friends opened their own the film studio HuanyeFilms to continue work on commercial and documentary films.
On January 5th, 2019, Asu and his wife Ching welcomed their first kiddo Jooyin灼音 to the world. The nomad alpinist film maker Asu begins a new life chapter to explore the world and tell good stories with family together.
